MB and I did a blind tasting of 113 wines in the Cellarhand portfolio on Monday. It was a good day out.
Black jellybean, menthol, hedgerow, blackcurrant and raspberry. Medium-bodied, juicy burst but with black olive and pencil/earth savouries, buoyant, fresh, complex, dusty emery tannin, and a long and briary finish. Such a great drink. 94 or 95 points. – Gary Walsh, Wine Front
Fruit here only narrowly missed out on going into Quintet (Mount Mary’s top red). This is a wine that has all the elegance you would expect coming out of the Mount Mary Stable. Medium bodied and pure with very fine texture and tannins. A very complete and seamless wine showing some leafiness, restrained blue fruits and some dried twig/autumnal notes. Very small quantities made. – Ches Cook, FWC.
