Valmur is situated in a small amphitheatre that acts like a sun trap, typically producing one of the richest Grand Crus. Quite powerful with lots of pithy citrus and stone-fruit, green apple skin, and rocky chalky minerality. There is more extract and power here but no lack of freshness, with layers of chalky oyster shell complexity beneath the fruit waiting to unfurl with time. Restrained power in the context of this site. FWC.
