Moorooduc McIntyre Pinot Noir 2018
Happily sits alongside By Farr & Bass Phillip as one of the great Pinot Noirs of Australia. Very Limited. Ian Cook, FWC.
Medium to full red colour with a tinge of purple, and a bouquet that reflects savoury oak-matured nuances and concentrated fruit, the latter even more evident on the palate. Intense, piercing and very long, with abundant tannins and upright structure. An impressive pinot with great power and potential. The tannins are firm and strong, bordering on extreme, but it’s a young wine with terrific ageing potential and those tannins will enable it to handle hearty foods. They are in harmony with the very concentrated flavour. A mighty pinot of Grand Cru proportions. 97 Points, Huon Hooke. Drink 2020-2036.
