A new find for us. Primitivo (aka Zinfandel) from Puglia and an absolute bargain. The initial impression is all dark fruit with black cherry, blackcurrant, and plum on its way to raisin. After a bit more time in the glass you see some mocha, walnut, and a touch of earth. Smooth, rich and round in the mouth with soft tannin and generosity but enough acidity to freshen things up. Great pizza/BBQ wine – I suspect the Five Way Cellars staff will get through a fair bit of this over the next few months. – Rob McLean, FWC.
