Leeuwin Art Series Riesling 2019
Margaret River is not famed for its Riesling, with the guys down in the Great Southern getting more attention. Yet year after year Leeuwin defies the sceptics. The 2018 is fresh and lifted with lemon, lime, grapefruit and no residual sugar. It’s bone dry, but softer and a touch more textural at this young age than other dry Rieslings. Mouth-watering, feather-light palate of lemon zest and crisp acidity, with some bath salt minerality. A bottle of the 2005 vintage left no doubt as to its aging potential. FWC.
