La Calcinara 'Clochard' IGT Marche Bianco 2022

90% Verdicchio, 10% Chardonnay. Verdicchio with a splash of chardonnay. On the ocean in Conero, Marche. A very short skin contact here too. It's so evocative of the sea - a proper seaside white. Scents of sea spray, strong, dried seaweed, oyster shell, green apple. Beautiful. Crisp texture with a light juiciness, saline minerality and briny characters amongst green apple juice to taste. A chalky pucker and trickes of that saline acidity to finish. Faint nuttiness too. Beautiful. 94 points, drink 2023-2026, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front.
