“Winemaker Damian North is a lovely gentleman with wines that speak of the Yarra Valley with great clarity. This is fruit from the upper Yarra, an unusual year climatically for grape growing and harvesting. Pretty perfume of red cherry, watermelon, rose water, briar and clove. The palate is a little dilute in flavour but has a rearguard of sweet fruit that finishes off each sip nicely. Soft, succulent texture, a little burr of dusty-savoury tannin, some dilution to flavour, gentle sweetness a motif. It’s very nice drinking. Delicious bistro style, let’s say. 91 points.” – Mike Bennie, Wine Front.
