Hewitson 'Old Garden' Mourvedre 2013
A smoky nose of blue fruits and blueberries with dark undertones leads to an utterly seamless palate, still with blue fruits but with char and ash as well. The wine has a deep, dark and brooding core which will only properly reveal itself with time in the cellar. There is finesse but there is downright power here too. One of the best Old Garden’s in recent memory. An iconic Australian wine. – FWC.
