Hewitson 'Miss Harry' 2018
Miss Harry is a Barossa Valley blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre. Funnily enough I was just thinking earlier this week that Hewitson wasn’t/isn’t as prominent as it once was, which is probably more perception than reality, and then a full box of samples arrived the next day, as if they had read my mind. I would call this release reliable, in a good way. It delivers on what you might hope and want. It’s juicy, dark berried and generally well fruited, with just enough redness to its berry profile to add both light and lift. It also has just, just enough oak to lend it some polish. It feels neat, it feels satisfying, it feels entirely enjoyable. Drink 2020-2025+, 92 Points, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
