A totally effortless wine; layered, soft, gentle and perfectly balanced. Keyneton 2013 offers up a medium bodied and completely seamless palate, combining dried herbal notes (clove, rosemary) with plum and darker black cherry flavours. The tannins towards the back are fine and gently rippling, with the length and persistence of the wine sublime. – Ches Cook, FWC.
A blend of 45 per cent shiraz, 36 per cent cabernet sauvignon, 17 per cent
merlot and two per cent cabernet franc, sourced from both Barossa and Eden Valleys. It's a shiraz-cabernet Australian blend,’ says Johann. ‘But with a Henschke quirk of merlot and cabernet franc.’ The wine itself is a delight, a claret style that is so elegant, the magic of the blend being how its many elements enhance its delicate cabernet core, soft, smooth, dark fruits with sage and mint. Totally delicious. – Tony Love, Adelaide Advertiser, 29 October 2016
