A moderately expressive nose features just the barest hint of secondary development along with an elegant and softly perfumed mix of earth, underbrush and spice nuances that add breadth to the red and dark pinot fruit aromas. As is usually the case with a fine example of Latricières the minerality is quite pungent and adds even more lift to the vibrant and intense medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a beautifully well-delineated, saline and impressively lingering finish. I very much like this and while it could certainly be drunk now with pleasure, to my taste there is still enough upside potential remaining to recommend waiting a few more years first. Tasted three times in the last two years and while two bottles were clean, I would note that the third did display enough brett to remark upon but not so much as to render the wine unpleasant or unduly metallic.
