Shaun Crinion came to our attention last year after picking up Halliday’s ‘Best new Winery of 2018’ award. Upon trying his wines, we were honestly blown away. Needless to say the wines were very well received by our customers and a lot of people have been asking for more since the 2017s sold out late last year.
Well we are happy to announce that the 2018 ‘Appellation’ (entry level) wines have now been released and quality is just as high as last year. Both the Chardonnay and Pinot drink well above their price-points and come highly recommended by us.
Sean cut his teeth making great Chardonnay in Burgundy and California at some of those regions’ great estates. To his own admission it is what he does best and his ‘Appellation’ Chardonnay is a great introduction to his wines. This is an energetic and lively Chardonnay built on a backbone of fine acidity and backed by fleshy stonefruit and nutty complexity. It has a smokey nose and is barrel fermented, resulting in a wine of great presence with plenty of textural interest too. A wine of immense value – it really should be selling for $50+. - Ches Cook, FWC.
