Belinda Thomson continues to ascend the mantle at Crawford River, with patriarch John’s twinkling eye of approval. This oozes class from the glass, with a fragrant lift of violet, all spice, bay leaf & some blue fruits. Just released, it is right in the zone, the fruit gliding across the palate, with a seductive weight & purity. It’s the shape of the wine though, that draws you back, everything in proportion & balance, the fruit becoming finer & more ethereal. The tannins are fine & long with a finish & aftertaste that coos elegance. Really delicious & not to be missed. Ian Cook- FWC
Released with patience. How wonderful.
Brooding, dark cherry, mint, dried meats and eucalyptus notes. Earthy in the palate, dark plum, soy sauce, new leather and more mint/eucalyptus lending freshness. It’s smooth, rolls around the palate with complexity, density, ease and interest. A really serious, mellow, lovely, moody red. Drink 2021-2035. 94 Points. Mike Bennie, The Wine Front.
