Chateau Beau Soleil historically belonged to Rambaud family, who purchased the property from Mr. Beau Soleil himself. Located on a mixture of sand and fine gravel in the appellation of Pomerol, the vineyard has been the property of Medocain Thierry Rustmann since 2005. The complexity of the 3.5 hectare property's terroir and the choice of 100% Merlot give Chateau Beau Soleil wines elegance and finesse. The wines are
aromatic and are soft and round in the mouth with fresh notes of red fruits, liquorice, and flowers.
A fairly full bodied and generous wine here, partly due to being 100% Merlot, and aided by the warm vintage with ample sunlight throughout. Fruit is in the blue fruit spectrum with plum, blueberry, cassis and black cherry all evident. Hints of wood spice add a dimension of flavour, while tannins are rounded and supple. Very enjoyable to drink now with a soft mid-palate, but plenty of stuffing here to suggest a good 10-15 years ahead of this wine. – Ches Cook, FWC.
