Tuscan IGT is the appellation but its largely young vines Sangiovese from Montalcino.
The 2016 vintage is a very drinkable Irrosso. It disappeared all too quickly at home the other night. Richer than expected with notes of cherry and violet, mineral and balsamic hints. On the palate it shows beautiful richness and depth, with that beautiful tussle between fruit sweetness and savoury bitterness – achieved to perfection for such an inexpensive wine. Bright and clean with perfect acidity and fine tannin structure. Super ready to drink but able to age in the bottle for some years. - Ian Cook - FWC
