A bright red/crimson hue. On the nose, the wine is lifted and shows red cherry with a touch of sour cherry pip (I love the brightness this gives) combined with notes of fresh herbs, earth and spicy tobacco. The palate has very good weight at this price point with plenty of dusty sweet and sour cherry. The finish is a little earthy with fine savoury tannins. Excellent mid-week pasta wine with tomato based sauces. Recommended. Ian Cook
