Bouchard Chambolle-Musigny 2018
Attractive aromas of raspberries, red berries, cinnamon, warm spices and woodsmoke preface the 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village, a medium to full-bodied, lively wine with good depth at the core and refined structuring tannins. Around half of the cuvee derives from Bouchard's own holdings, the balance provided by purchased grapes. 88-90+ Points, William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is a combination of the domaine's 0.7 hectares plus fruit purchased from a neighbour. The perfumed bouquet delivers black cherries and raspberry confit fruit, and the 20% whole cluster lends a subtle tertiary quality. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and nicely judged acidity. Well-integrated new oak (15%) then lends a silky texture on the finish. Enjoy this over the next decade. 89-91 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous
Mentholated aromas of cassis, black cherry and spice are trimmed in enough wood to merit pointing out. Again, there is very good energy to the more detailed and equally stony medium weight flavors that possess a finer texture on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. This too would benefit from more overall depth. 88 Points, drink 2024+, Allen Meadows, Burghound
