Clyde Park D Block Pinot Noir 2015
The prosaically named ‘Block D’ was planted in 1998 to clone MV6 (the MV stands for Mother Vine), and vinified with wild ferments and 100% whole bunch. One third new French oak. 165 cases produced. Mint and fennel perfume, layers of spice, cherries, undergrowth and a little sweet creamy oak. Medium bodied, sinewy and fresh through the juiciness of fruit, punctuated by stalk and spice, powdery and chalky on a long finish. Impact + tastiness. What a good wine. Such personality. 95 points. – Grary Walsh, Wine Front.
