Littorai Cerise Pinot Noir 2016
Biodynamic.
The 2016 Pinot Noir Cerise Vineyard shows a much more powerful, virile expression of Anderson Valley than the Savoy or Wendling. A big, tannic wine, the 2016 is going to need quite a bit of time to open up, as it is especially forbidding in the early going. Floral, savory and earthy notes add nuance, but the 2016 is quite reticent today. - ANTONIO GALLONI
From a steep, rocky, south facing slope. Single site wines from Littorai and the considered farming of Ted Lemon and co. Pretty floral perfume offering rose hip tea, violets, fait raspberry scents but a delicacy is the motif overall, a general prettiness and sweet spice. Succulent in the palate, fine and light but packed with flavour, a sheath of firm but talc-like tannins, exceptional length and a mouth-watering freshness. This is a seriously wonderful expression, so lacy, so fine, but powerful in its expression of individuality. - MIKE BENNIE - WINE FRONT
