Most often my favourite Rockford red. Juicy dark cherry, blackcurrant, aniseed, up-front and perfumed, discreet vanilla oak. Medium-bodied, packed with jubey dark fruit, fine-grained tannin, pouch tobacco, long finish. Vibrant. Good structure. Will age very nicely, I feel. Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
It’s a jubey, jolly red of softness and sweet fruit character. Scents of raspberry lolly frogs, faint vanilla, whiffs of green herbs and violets. Pretty perfume this. The palate slips all around the palate with suppleness and ease. Simple, jammy/jelly berry fruit flavours, a lick of herbs and faint earthiness, kind of diffuse and watery through the finish. Tannins are AWOL, acidity a bit scratchy, but the general feel is of easy drinking and simple pleasure. 91 points, drink 2018-2028. - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
