"We at Five Way Cellars have been pushing the Mt Langi Shiraz barrow for the past nineteen years. James Halliday agrees, calling it “one of the top half dozen shiraz’s in Australia” & “The Shiraz points the way for cool climate examples of the variety”. The 2005 vintage (just released) is a cracker, with white pepper, clove, dried spices with deep plum, dark cherry and licorice nuances. It shows a beautifully balanced ripe mid palate, that is supple yet restrained at this stage, with an engine full of power yet to reveal itself. The palate is long, clean and loaded with fine polished tannins to finish. It will cellar beautifully at least until 2020. Highly recommended. Cellar 10-20 years." Ian Cook, FWC.
