Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 375ml
Quite unique on the nose; unlike all of the other top wines from the region including Cullen, Cape Mentelle, Woodlands etc. Very fragrant with tea leaf, blackcurrant, cedar and spice. On the palate there are more blue and black berry notes, particularly mulberry, and those cedar and spice notes continue, too. Intensely flavoured yet gentle on the senses – a very complete wine. At first it comes across as medium bodied, then it builds and builds, turning into a powerfully long, fragrant, full-bodied and determined wine. Tannins are chalky and fine, being tightly wound at this early stage. This is an epic Moss Wood Cabernet (and the best since ’02 or ’05 according to Keith Mugford, the winemaker). – FWC
Moss Wood's flagship wine is a structured beauty with nothing out of place. The gloss of the colour, the florals, blackberries and mulberries infused with black olives, dried herbs and eucalypt; the French oak and the fine-grained tannins seal the deal. Very even and will reward the patient. Rating 97 Drink by: 2044.
