Mewstone D'Entrecasteaux Channel Riesling 2021

The fruit for this 2021 D'Entrecasteaux Channel Riesling was handpicked, whole-bunch pressed to seasoned French oak, fermented utilizing wild yeasts for 38 days and aged on lees until spring. On the nose, the wine shows custard apples, crushed shells, brine, dry grasses (hay, straw, etc.) and green apple skins. In the mouth, it is all of these things with a core of salted preserved citrus. This is very smart, with a slick texture and spooling, juicy acidity through the finish.
